Funerals

Christians believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives them hope and cause for thanksgiving in the face of death. In this faith we entrust those who have died to the infinite mercy and love of God. A Methodist funeral service acknowledges this hope and offers bereaved people the opportunity to remember their loved one's life and offer them into God's care.

Methodist Church UK

At this incredible time in our nation there is much uncertainty in our day to day lives but sadly there will still be times of great loss. We are here to support you through the loss of a loved one, whatever the circumstances for that passing.

Please contact your Funeral Director in the first instance to make the practical arrangements and they will then contact myself through the church to arrange a date and time for a cremation or burial.  Sadly due to government and NHS restrictions we are not able to offer a service within the church building but we can discuss with you all that we are able to offer and ensure that we give as much pastoral support and sensitivity as is needed.  We will do our best to honour your loved one and prayerfully support you at this incredibly difficult time.

We can also offer the possibility of making arrangements to hold a Thanksgiving service in the future, so that family and friends can pay their respects, memories can be shared and a life fully celebrated, once our restrictions are lifted in our communities.

God bless you and keep you.

Deacon Maria
