The Boys' Brigade

At it's heart and origins The Boys' Brigade is all about "The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness".

Whereas the structure of our groups is a little different, the following videos give you an idea of what you might expect to find here with us.

When: Friday nights from 6:30 til 9pm

The Boys Brigade
The Girls' Brigade

Girls’ Brigade (GB) is an international organisation which is committed to seeing “Girls’ lives transformed and God’s world enriched!” How that is achieved works very differently in each group across the globe. Ultimately, through membership in GB we aim to inspire girls and women to be who God made them to be by equipping them with the tools to meet the challenges of life head on.

Here are Emmanual we have an amazing team of leaders that work with the girls week by week. On Friday nights from 6:30pm - 8pm (for those aged 11 and under) or 6:30pm - 9am (for those aged 11+) the girls work predominantly in four different age specific groups to do a range of activities from games and crafts to discussions and bible studies appropriate for their ages. There are also opportunities to come together as a whole company to share stories and activities, which really encourages a sense of community across the ages with everyone supporting and caring for each other.

This year is a very special year for GB as we are celebrating its 125th birthday! GB was established in Ireland by two passionate women who were concerned about the girls in their community and the lack of opportunities they had. Whilst the world may have moved on a lot in the last 125 years this passion to see girls thrive remains one of our key drivers! Some of the amazing stories of transformation that GB has been involved in can be found on the GB website ( and social media or check out the #iamgb video below which some of our own girls and leaders helped to create. As part of the celebrations we are striving to share the message of the hope far and wide, so watch out for more information about the celebration events we are doing in this very special year!
